After ten months, she got the opportunity to work at WOKV Newstalk Radio in Jacksonville, where she earned a chance to work in news production.  Rotella then worked for WNEP Newswatch for two years.

Michelle switched to WTXL-TV in September 2013, where she was employed as a Sunrise and Noon Meteorologist for a year, after which she joined Herald-Mail Media as its Chief Meteorologist for 11 months. Later, she also did a stint in a reality show, in the middle of which she was appointed at WCCB-TV. Currently, Rotella has been working as a senior broadcast meteorologist at the AccuWeather Network since March 2021.
