Paul Wahlberg is a chef known for the TV series Wahlburgers that ran from 2014 to 2019. Brother of actor Mark Wahlberg and musician/actor Donnie Wahlberg, the three siblings came together to go on a trip across the U.S. in his preparation to expand his hamburger restaurant business.
Contrary to how open Paul has been about Wahlburgers (a burger dining restaurant and bar that Paul owned and expanded after the television series by the same name), he is quite secretive about his personal life.
Wahlberg and his Wife have Two Children
No details are known about who the chef is married to. As for his children, Maddie attended the Hingham High School in Hingham, Massachusetts before attending Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. And according to Ethan’s Instagram page, he attended the University of Massachusetts Boston. He is into skateboarding, music, and fashion.
Paul was born in Dorchester, Massachusetts to Donald Edward Wahlberg and Alma McPeck. He is the fourth of nine children and two of his younger brothers are well-known personalities, actor Mark Wahlberg [starred in Ted (2012), Pain & Gain (2013), Lone Survivor (2013), Transformers: The Last Knight (2017) among many other movies] and actor/musician Donnie Wahlberg [The Sixth Sense (1999), Zookeeper (2011) and Saw V (2008)].
His Restaurant Alma Nove is Named after Mother
While Mark and Donnie were interested in becoming performers, Paul was passionate about cooking. From a young age, Paul spent time in the family kitchen with his mother, Alma McPeck. During those times, his love for cooking grew even greater and worked in a professional kitchen.
Following his graduation, he worked in several kitchens around Boston, including The Charles Hotel and The Four Seasons. Afterward, he worked at Bridgeman’s in Hull, Massachusetts, where he served as executive chef for nine years.
Departing from Bridgeman’s, Paul opened up his own restaurant, Alma Nove. The restaurant’s name comes from his mother’s name Alma and Nove (nine in Italian) because he was one of 9 siblings. The modern Italian-Mediteranian restaurant is co-owned by Paul, Mark, and Donnie Wahlberg.
Wahlburgers was A&E’s reality TV series that ran for 10 seasons. The synopsis of the series reads, “The Wahlberg brothers solve daily kitchen drama as they prepare to expand their successful hamburger restaurant business.”
The series is based on Paul’s casual dining burger restaurant named Wahlburgers, a chain of restaurants that started in Greater Boston town of Hingham, Massachusetts. It follows Paul, Mark, and Donnie’s travels all across the U.S. as they try to explore and decide on how to better run Wahlburgers restaurant.
