Shannon was born and raised in California, but has revealed little about her childhood or upbringing.
Farren’s Parents, Family
There is no more information regarding Shannon’s parents and siblings, but she shares a few personal snaps of her family and friends.
In an interview, she once said that when she was young, she worked at a deli near where her family lived in the Bay Area.
She obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree from California State University, Chico.
Her Carrer Journey
Farren started reporting for KPAY rather than merely anchoring the weather or news.
She relocated to Sacramento after finishing her schooling and became a reporter for KFBK. Farren was one of many anchors and reporters who had moved from KPAY to KFBK, but she said she was still ecstatic to have had such a significant boost in her career.
During her time at KFBK, she covered a variety of breaking news stories and events, and she was even charged with covering the Baseball World Series despite her lack of knowledge of Major League Baseball.
Shannon joined the KFI crew and relocated to Los Angeles in July 2005. She began as the station’s host and anchor for the Sunday Morning News program before joining up with fellow on-air personality Gary Hoffman to broadcast the Gary and Shannon show.
