Emmy award-winning reporter Shawn Ley was married to his beautiful wife, Sandra Ali. They both work in the same industry and have a great relationship.

But it’s been a few years since they appeared on one another’s social media handles. This has raised a question among the netizens about whether they are still together.

Shawn Ley and Sandra Ali Met in Detroit

Shawn Ley and his beautiful wife, Sandra Ali, initially met when he took a job in Detroit, where she lived and worked. But later, she moved to Cincinnati.

When he found out she was moving to Cincinnati, where he previously lived, he provided her with his favorite hotspots.

Then, after one year, the pair ran into one other when Ley came across Ali’s house, which she had recently listed for sale.

Shawn used the unexpected reunion as an opportunity to ask Sandra out, and their romance blossomed from there. As per Distractify, the pair reportedly married in 2006 at the Hills Country Club in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The Couple Welcomed Four Children

After they got married, the couple grew their family a few years later. The pair welcomed their first child, Roman, in 2010.

Then, they had another child, a daughter, Isla. Later, in January 2017, Ali gave birth to twin boys, Grand and Tamer. With the arrival of their children, the couple learned to balance their career and family duties.

In 2012, Ali stated that Ley was genuinely a special dad. Further, she added that they had a unique household with two working parents who worked unconventional and crazy schedules. 

She stated Ley leaves for work in the middle of the night to prepare for the morning show. However, when her husband returns home from a hard day at Local 4, he is welcomed by an exuberant, nonstop two-year-old eager to tackle the afternoon.

Despite being bleary-eyed and sleep-deprived, he would never let their little guy down. Somehow, Ley finds the energy to keep up with their toddler.

Sandra also thanked her hubby on Father’s Day in June 2018. In the post about her husband, she commended him for dealing with their children’s “dirty diapers” while still working.

Are They Still Together?

Netizens have raised the question of whether the lovely pair is still together or not. Since 2018, neither of them has shared their picture on social media.

As per several fans on Buzzboard’s message board, they spotted her without the wedding ring multiple times, dating back to 2021.

In addition, some also claimed that Ali filed for divorce in November 2019, which was finalized in 2020. But neither Sandra nor Shawn have confirmed it.

The last time she posted was in 2018, praising her husband. After that, she continuously shared her vacation picture with four kids. Yet, she hasn’t posted her picture with him.

Ley is also continuously active on Instagram but never shared his picture with her. It is still unknown whether they are still married or not.

Ley’s Wife Is Award Winning Anchor and Reporter

Ley’s spouse was born and raised in New York City. However, she spent the early part of her childhood growing up in Egypt, where her parents immigrated to the US.

She is an award-winning anchor and reporter who has worked for multiple media companies like Fox News, CNN, and CNN Headline News. 

The anchor started her career in television from the WTAJ. In 2002, she won the Associated Press award for Best Hard News Reporter and Michigan’s Association of Broadcasters’ award in 2003.

Ali joined WLWT, located in Ohio, in August 2004 as the station’s main anchor. She spent six years and moved back to Detroit and NBC affiliate WDIV. She worked there for thirteen years.

Talking about her education, Sandra graduated with honors from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Journalism when she was 20 years old. She celebrated her 21st birthday with a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School.
