Jay Jurden is happily married to his husband, Garrison Gibbons. The couple exchanged the wedding vows on June 26, 2023, in an intimate wedding ceremony.
Since then, the pair have been enjoying their marital life, residing together in Harlem with their ten-year-old dog, Bindi.
Gibbon’s Proposal Plans to His Partner Were Almost Ruined
The comedian and his partner Garrison Gibbons first met as theatre arts undergraduates at the University of Mississippi.
Then, staying together for three and half years, Gibbons proposed to Jurden on the eve of his birthday in 2015. He had planned to propose to him where the duo initially met.
But his plan was nearly ruined. He was still graduating from the university, and Jurden was in town to celebrate.
He led him to the Meek Auditorium, where they were introduced and collaborated on their debut show. However, the location he planned to propose was locked during the weekend.
So, Garrison had to break into the auditorium, and he was worried that his plan would be disrupted. He had the beautiful ring box hidden in his pocket.
Regardless, all his plans went well after that; in the end, he proposed to him in the auditorium. The comedian was shocked and surprised at the same time.
The lovely couple waited six years after they got engaged to plan their wedding. They had no family pressure to marry, which caused a delay in their nuptials.
In addition, the duo was enjoying their life together in New York and were unsure if a wedding was necessary for their relationship.
Then, finally, this year, they chose to wed in New York City. The comedian chose a brown bespoke suit while Garrison looked dashing in a dark green custom suit with an enormous blouson jacket and high-waisted pants.

Previously, in his Twitter bio, he stated that he is “the arm candy of comedian, you know,” which is deleted now. In addition, in November, he shared a photo posted by Jurden saying, “I’m always serving.”
He has always supported his partner, Jurden. In October 2019, he shared a picture with him, saying he was sure he would make it when he first saw him performing in 2011.
“Eight years later, you have made it to this point because of your talent, your drive, and your determination,” he wrote.
Furthermore, he stated that the comic had motivated him daily and continually wowed him with his wit and charisma. He also goes to see him performing. For instance, in July 2019, he visited Montreal for the Just for Laughs festival to see Jurden perform in New Faces.
