He was staying there with a friend and preparing to climb Mt. Everest. In 2014, in an interview with Piers Morgan, Bear revealed when he was about to leave for Everest, it had only been a few months since he had met Shara. Bear, whose real name is Edward, said,
“It was the worst timing in the world to fall in love because I was up in Scotland.”
“It was the new year, I was training, staying with a friend and climbing every day.”
When Bear Grylls returned from climbing Everest without delay, he proposed to his future wife, Shara.
